I'm sure many of you are familiar with the legendary New Hampshire band, The Spectras. I played with the band during my college years, but they started way before that and are still going strong with many original members! The Spectras were the house band at the famous Casino Ballroom at Hampton Beach in the 60's. They played dances for literally thousands of teenagers at a time, and opened for such legendary groups as The Beach Boys and The Doors. Spectras founding member and leader, Dick Ray, has been through a bit of a tough health ride lately, and so, in tribute to his decades of service, a show is planned at the Casino for September 22 in his honor. Admission is free! A cash bar will be available, and you can bring your own snacks. Those under 21 years of age can come if accompanied by a parent. I'll be doing a few tunes with the band and happily re-living my rock star days! Dick is also expected to perform a few songs as well. We'd be happy to see you there!
